Idli Podi


Idli Podi Recipe

Idli Podi is a flavorful south indian condiment recipe which not only adds flavor to the dishes like dosa, idli, uttapam or curd rice but also adds nutrients to it. 

Idli podi is made of lentils, seeds and spices, also known as gun powder, idli karam podi, or chutney podi.

Ingredients:

Chana Dal, 1/4 cup

White Urad Dal, 1/4 cup

Sesame seeds, 2 tablespoon

Kashmiri red chilli, 1 or as per taste

Seedless Tamarind, 1 tablespoon

Curry leaves, 10-12 leaves

Rock salt, as per taste

Directions:

- Dry roast chana dal, urad dal, sesame seeds, kashmiri red chilli and curry leaves( if you are using dried curry leaves can directly add them to the grinder) till they turn golden brown.

- Once it cools down, transfer it to a grinder, add seedless tamarind, curry leaves and salt to taste and grind to get a fine powder.

- Add it to idli or dosa and Enjoy!!
